The seers of the Garabandal apparitions 1961-1965

The demise of Pope Francis sheds new light on one of the Virgin Mary’s prophecies at Garabandal. Conchita Gonzales, the principal seer of 1 Garabandal went on record in 1965 as saying that a papal visit to Moscow would signal the outbreak of widespread Communist activity in Europe.

“The pope will go to Russia, to Moscow. As soon as he returns to the Vatican, hostilities will break out in different parts of Europe.”

                                        — Conchita, November 14, 1965

Obviously, this prophecy didn’t refer to Pope Francis since he never went to Russia. From this we can infer that either a bad pope (like Parolin) might go to Russia to huddle with his Kremlin cronies on how to better oppress humanity, or an excellent pope 2 will go to Russia to try to dissuade the Kremlin about its communistic aspirations. This would likely anger the Russians and lead to revolution in Europe.

Also, we learn from Garabandal the number of popes that would remain before “the end of times.” Upon the death of Pope John XXIII on June 3, 1963, Our Lady at Garabandal told Conchita that there remained three popes after John XXIII.

“After this pope, there are only three left. Then it will be the end of times.”

Initially, Conchita said three popes remained but on her own accord she immediately clarified that there were actually four popes that remained but that the reign of one would be so short it would scarcely count as a papacy.

We now understand this to be Pope John Paul I whose reign lasted but 33 days. The fulfillment of this prophecy gives much credibility to the whole prophecy, which seemingly was God’s way of encouraging Catholics to believe the prophecy.

So, the four remaining popes after John XXIII would be Paul VI, John Paul I, John Paul II, and Benedict XVI.

Albrecht Weber, author of the book “The Finger of God,” interviewed Conchita in her home on November 14, 1965, and it was during that interview that this revelation about the remaining popes surfaced. Conchita’s mother was present throughout and took a keen interest in what was being said.

 1. The apparitions of Garabandal were highly endorsed by the late great Padre Pio who was probably the greatest saint of the 20th century. Anything he approved was blessed and authentic.

2. That is, Peter the Roman who will guide the Church during the final tribulations after the reign of antipope(s).
