Russia not the Focal Point of Pope Francis’ “Consecration of Russia”

Concerned Catholics throughout the world have expressed dismay over Pope Francis’ consecration of Russia on March 25, which raises concerns about the validity of the consecration, since the event was supposed to be a world day of prayer in which the pope and bishops pray exclusively for the Consecration of Russia in order to expel to evil of Communism from Russia. It never happened.
Our Lady at Fatima Was Specific in Her Directive
The Blessed Virgin was most specific in her directive for the Consecration of Russia. During the Fatima apparition of July 13, 1917, she told the seer Sr. Lucia dos Santos:
“… I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she [Russia] will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she [Russia] shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.”
On June 13, 1929, while Sr. Lucy was at prayer in the convent chapel at Tuy, Spain, Our Lady again appeared to her and repeated this request for the Consecration of Russia.
“The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father to make, and to order that in union with him and at the same time, all the bishops of the world make the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to convert it because of this day of prayer and worldwide reparation.”
Fatima Request Blown Off
Clearly the pope did not follow through with Our Lady’s directive because the March 25 solemnity was not about consecrating Russia but about consecrating the world. The event focused on “ourselves” and “humanity” and stressed the “fraternity” of the “human family” and how we should give up the “selfish needs and concerns” of “our own nations” (nationalism) and be “stewards of our common home” (environmentalists), as if Francis was eliciting God's blessing for globalism.
Russia was only mentioned briefly at the end. There was no mention of Our Lady of Fatima who asked for the Consecration of Russia nor was there any mention of the need to deliver Russia from the curse of Communism nor was this event even about Russia. Humanist solutions for peace were offered while the requests of Our Lady of Fatima were blown off. The only mention of Russia came at the end when Francis said:
“To your Immaculate Heart we solemnly entrust and consecrate ourselves, the Church and all humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine.”
The idea of the Consecration is to convert Russia that it might become a Catholic country under Rome that no longer poses a threat to the nations and to its own people. It is supposed to deliver Russia from Communism. To say that the March 25 consecration was a worldwide day of reparation and prayer dedicated exclusively to the consecration and conversion of Russia would be absurd.
1917 Connection
The timing of the 1917 Fatima apparitions is significant since 1917 was the year of the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. Here we saw Our Lady neck to neck with the red dragon in an urgent attempt to defeat Communism that was already threatening humanity. The Fatima apparition was all about consecrating and converting Russia, something that hasn’t happened.
In 1984 Pope John Paul II consecrated the world to Mary, which included Russia, but Russia has continued to spread its pestilent errors throughout the world and Church because the pope included other countries in his consecration.
Russia will be Consecrated after the Third Secret is Released
The foregoing is not to mention that the approved visionary Antonio Ruffini told Fatima expert Fr. Paul Kramer that the consecration of Russia would not be done until after the release of the Third Secret of Fatima. According to Fr. Kramer, Sr. Lucy of Fatima said the release of the Third Secret would take place at the height of a war with Russia, which means the Consecration of Russia is still pending.
But it needn’t be pending nor should it be. We shouldn’t rest easy until the Consecration of Russia is finally done according to the requests of Our Lady of Fatima. For even as you read these lines Russia’s assault on the Ukraine continues to intensify with hundreds of thousands of people fleeing the country. The only assurance we will have that “a period of peace” lies ahead is if the pope unites with all the bishops of the world to CONSECRATE ONLY RUSSIA to the Immaculate of Mary. For this we continue to pray.
