The Jig is Up - Open the Factories! Open the Economy!

At best, it was a knee jerk reaction for Governors to shut down economies across the United States. We can hope that the situation was as innocent as that, but we know that liberal politicians are using the COVID-19 pandemic as a weapon against the Trump Administration. Businesses, like my manufacturing plants, are more than capable of enforcing the necessary guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Work with business leaders; don't just shut them down.

Backed against a wall, after a failed impeachment attempt, the left was out of cards. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer had bet the farm on trying to impeach the President; hoping that something would come out of the trial that they could bog down the Senate and House with months of investigations and proceedings. The end goal, knowing that the President was innocent of all allegations, was to buy time until they found the right lie to sway public opinion before the 2020 general election.

Their gift from China was COVID-19. It may have not been coordinated with the Communist Party of China, but American and European liberal politicians sure pounced on the opportunity.

The first states to issue state-wide "shelter in place" orders, were California, Oregon, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, etc. Some of the most liberal states. Other state governments fought it for a week or two, before giving in to the political tide.

It's easy to see which states are politicizing the pandemic, posturing their propaganda operations to pick daily fights with the White House. New York and Michigan have done a fine job with flooding the nightly news with news and talking points.

Governors like Gretchen Whitmer, Democrat from Michigan, have done a fine job at showing workers their liberal definition for "essential." Construction sites, even if for future "essential" businesses, are shut down. There goes any chance for Michigan to fix their potholes. More shocking, all elective medial procedures and operations are canceled, except for abortion. Apparently, in Whitmer's mind, clinics and mortuaries aren't busy enough with handling COVID-19.

Last time I checked, I thought socialists were supposed to be the party for workers? Not when it means fighting against Trump.

The truth is, state governments didn't need to shut down entire economies. Did they need to restrict travel? Did they need to impose guidelines for social distancing? Yes, and businesses are more than willing to comply and assist the government's efforts to defeat COVID-19.

Before shutting down commerce, state governments should have initially made it mandatory for businesses to designate employees who could work from home, design split shifts to separate department teams, require sick employees to remain at home for 14 days or get approved to return by a doctor, end meetings and move them to computer or phone, manually track hours instead of using time-clock touch screens, check temperatures of employees as they arrive to work, prevent employees from going out to eat for lunch, install hand sanitizer dispensers at every door, clean all common areas and door handles hourly, sanitize work centers at the beginning and end of every shift, and to send documents via email instead of relying on paper.

I'm a Senior Operations Manager, responsible for two plants, for a manufacturing company outside of Atlanta. I have given many thanks to God for allowing us to keep working through this crisis. It has been tough though, some jobs have postponed and we have had to furlough some employees, but I'm happy to say that we have yet to have a confirmed case in our plants.

I'm not saying that the company that I work for is the model for success, but a testament that businesses can enforce these initiatives and safety guidelines.

American politicians need to put politics aside and give leaders in society the responsibility to adhere and enforce the social distancing guidelines required to stop the spread of COVID-19. We already have 22 million unemployed and an economy that is approaching recession. The airlines are down 97% on passengers, major banks have lost 45% profit, people are skipping mortgage and rent payments, the stimulus for small business loans has been tapped out, and small businesses are on the verge of shutting doors if there isn't another stimulus from Congress.

Don't wait for another stimulus package, for which the left will include another $1 billion for abortions. Open up the economy now!

Open up the factories! Open up the manufacturing plants! Open up the warehouse! Open up the distribution centers!

Open up America and get Americans back to work!
